Volunteering by Companies under their CSR

READ India has developed a robust system to support employee volunteering programmes under CSR. In the past, employees from companies like Accenture, Amazon India, PwC India Foundation, Avery Dennison, International Flavours and Fragrances and many more have actively contributed towards community work through their employee volunteering programmes.

Building capacities of the communities with sessions such as Spoken English, Personality Development, Basic and Advance Excel, Interview skills, Resume Writing etc.

Engaging in social and cultural events and creative activities with the communities on special occasions such as – World Health Day, Women’s Day, Celebrating festivals, Children’s Day, to name a few.

Volunteering by SOIL – School of Inspired Leadership, Gurgaon

READ India is one of the NGO partners for SOIL since 2016 for their Social Intervention Program (SIP) programme, where the focus is on the social sector and social inclusivity to ensure that each student transforms as a compassionate leader. Since the social sector plays a vital role in human development, the School of Inspired Leadership has incorporated the Social Innovation Program into its core curriculum. In the past six years, apart from working with the communities in Gurgaon,  the students volunteers have actively contributed towards projects like – Developing business plans for 3 pillars of READ’s social enterprises – Pre Schools, Centre for Excellence and Community based products, training on social media marketing and many more. They have also supported to develop HR manual, conduct staff trainings on management skills, communication skills, etc. They have compiled impactful stories on women empowerment.

 

PROBONO Work

Accenture and IBM have done extensive pro bono assignments for READ India on very specific subject areas. 

Accenture Pro Bono – Accenture developed paper on sustainability of READ India and its Centres and presented the strategy to READ India Trustees and Board. The finding and recommendations were very much relevant and are being used by READ India as part of our model till date.

Accenture pro bono team also developed READ India MIS, which is a robust system to capture the humongous data collected from our 54+ communities.

Accenture pro bono team have developed marketing strategy and business plans for two of our Community Libraries and Resource Centres working on garment-based production unit.

 IBM team comprising members from Global offices, worked with READ India team for over 3 weeks to develop documents by in-depth studying READ India model, developed 30/60/90 days action plan, SOPs for READ Centres and recommendation of  key components of READ Model.
