READ Community Library and Learning Centres (CLRCs)play a pivotal role in driving the holistic development of communities by providing access to education, resources, and opportunities that empower individuals across all ages and backgrounds. READ centres go beyond literacy by addressing key areas that contribute to the overall well-being and growth of rural communities:

    Health Awareness-Highlights

     

    • 5000+ rural communities have been provided workshops on basic health and hygiene.
    • 2000 CHWs (Community Health Workers) have been trained at rural locations
    • 17 Toilets have been constructed as a model for providing safe space.
    • 343 Women participated in the training on Reproductive and Child Health at READ Centres.
    • 1439 Beneficiaries interacted with health experts and participated in health camps.

    ICT through CLRCs

    • READ India has designed specific courses for rural children and youth for learning computers and other ICT tools for enhancing their skills and using these skills for their own growth and development.
    • Special programmes like technology empowering girls, aptly called ‘TechAge Girls’ are also part of the training programme
    • Youth are being trained on designing Digital Stories and Audio-Visual Programs, focussing on social issues
