Women Empowerment

READ India focuses on empowering women by building their skills, capacities and assets, and creating an enabling environment with stakeholders committed to their socio-economic development.

Training courses involving various Livelihood Programmes are organised depending on the existing local skills of the women. Their capacity is built by giving advanced trainings based on the chosen craft.

35000+ women participated in courses for Sewing and Stitching, Beauty Culture & Wellness, Nursery Teachers Training, Handicraft production work, Zari Zardosi, etc.

Highlights

Empowering women leaders: In 2018, more than 1775 women were trained on leadership and legal rights.

Spreading legal awareness: More than 239 women received training on legal rights, human rights, land rights, voting and government services.

Overcoming social evils: By participating in the awareness trainings on advocacy, child marriage, dowry and female infanticide.

Rising above discriminations: More than 50000 women directly received trainings on confidence building, leadership, civic partnership and gender equality.  The purpose is that they will share their learning with other women groups.
